E.T. Pyramid in Qinghai China?

Question

Years ago I was on the net browsing the news and one peculiar article online caught my eye (June 20, 2002):

I had forgotten about it afterwards, unfortunately. But recently I recalled the memory and set out to look for this article again.
There have not been any follow up articles to date. I've found nothing.
So to my question,
Did they find something there that was to be kept secret...?
Was the investigation hard on funds and canceled?
Or did they find nothing, and then decide to head back, but didn't bother opening up to the press or any source about this?

Clearly I'm not the only one interested in this.. a couple of forums I've found have been posing some of the same questions..
SO! I come to you, yahoo answers, to calm my geek soul! This is one mystery I'm in need of solving ^_~

The only pyramid I ever heard of in China was the one of the Chinese emperor that was built over a few thousand years ago. It was mounded together. They did sona grams of the mound and found that it was a huge complex covering a few hundred acres. They were never allowed to dig tin the area. The Chinese government still fears the curse behind the mound ... That if anyone disturbs the finally resting place the country will be destroyed by the emperor after he is awaken.
